Blue marsh lake

The scenic Blue Marsh Lake is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace. Blue Marsh Lake has two large no-wake zones and plenty of coves and narrow waterways to explore! The lake is owned by the U.S. Army Core of Engineers and it features public restrooms, plenty of parking, a swimming beach, snack stand, and great fishing! Kayaking on Blue Marsh Lake provides the perfect opportunity to relax and explore. We launch from the Church Rd parking lot.

Kayaking the Schuylkill River

Kayaking the Schuylkill River is a must visit for Berks County residents and anyone visiting the Reading area. It features an exciting combination of history, nature, and countryside. This includes early German settlements, the Reading Railroad, and the Schuylkill River Canal system. It's a great place for bird watching and picture taking.

Bridge at Wall St (Leesport) to Eplers Landing Boat Ramp (Bern Twp) Approx 2 1/2 to 3 hours. This section of river has a mix of riffles and runs and makes an exciting summer get away. We rate this trip as moderate, but it can be suitable for ambitious beginners. The section of the river we will be using is considered class 1.

If you are interested in a longer run please ask us about putting the kayaks in at the Peter Yarnell Park in Shoemakersville, and ending at Eplers Landing Boat Ramp, this trip would be approximately 5 1/2 to 6 hours.

Two vehicles are required when you paddle down the Schuylkill River. You will need one at the end of your kayak trip, so that you may drive back to your vehicle.

Kayaking the Tulpehocken Creek

Kayaking the Tulpehocken Creek is a blast with Blue Marsh Rentals! There are 2 sections of the Tulpehocken Creek; the "Upper Tulpy" and the "Lower Tulpy". The Upper Tulpy is a little bit more remote with a natural setting. It features a nice blend of riffles, runs and tight water. The Lower Tulpy is wider and has longer holes and features scenic bridges and historical buildings. We suggest the lower Tulpy for beginners and the Upper Tulpy for those looking for a little bit more adventure. Both sections are considered to be class 1.
